Barbara Bui is a French fashion designer of Vietnamese origin born in Paris in 1957. After studying literature at the Université de la Sorbonne, then performing standup comedy, Barbara Bui opened a clothing boutique in 1983 named Kabuki at 13 rue de Turbigo in Paris.
In 1987, the designer presented her first collections during Paris Fashion Week, establishing her eponymous brand.

Thanks to highly successful designs, in the next following years, she opened a second boutique at 23 rue Etienne Marcel in the heart of the French capital. Pure and sharp, the designer’s style exudes a raw sensuality through the use of primitive materials like leather, python, crocodile and fur which gives her gold and silver incrusted garments a rock ‘n’ roll energy. In 1998, the designer entered the stock market, which was an important turn of events that allowed her to develop her brand internationally, especially in 1999 with the opening of her boutiques in New York City, in the heart of SoHo, and in Milan, on the via Manzoni.
That same year, the Barbara Bui also opened her flagship store at 50 avenue Montaigne in Paris. After launching an accessories, bags and shoe line in 2000, the designer released BUI in 2003, an “urban cool” diffusion line. During this time, she also became a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Française et des Créateurs de mode.
Chic, sophisticated young Parisians have made Barbara Bui their luxury fashion byword for more than two decades, drawn in by her intuitive mix of audacity and elegance, edgy rock energy and ultra-feminine sensibility, pure minimalism and maximum glamour.

The French luxury brand offers modern chiseled lines; boots and sandals with extremely spiked heels, in materials of the night like python, suede, satin and patent leather contradicted by sport couture details.
